Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact form and email. Your name, email address, and whatever you choose to write to us. If you send a support request, this often includes technical details about your computer, operating system, and DAW.
- Newsletter signup. Your email address, and the date and source of your subscription.
Information collected when you buy something
Purchases are processed by Moonbase, which acts as the merchant of record. Moonbase collects your name, email address, billing address, country, and payment details, and calculates and remits applicable VAT or sales tax. Full payment card numbers are handled by Moonbase's payment processors and are never received or stored by us.
We receive from Moonbase the information needed to run the business: your name, email address, country, order details, license status, and activation records. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Information collected automatically
- Website analytics and cookies. Our site is hosted on Squarespace, which sets cookies and collects aggregate visitor data such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from IP address, browser, and device type.
- Embedded content. Product and walkthrough videos are embedded from YouTube. When a page with an embedded video loads, YouTube may set cookies and receive your IP address and information about your browser. This is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
- Software licensing. Our products connect to Moonbase's licensing service to activate and validate your license. This transmits your license credentials and a machine identifier for the computer you are activating. Our plugins do not collect your audio, your projects, or the contents of your computer.

Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Squarespace — website hosting, forms, and site analytics
- Moonbase — merchant of record, payments, tax, licensing, downloads, and customer accounts
- Google / YouTube — embedded video
- Professional advisors (such as an accountant), and authorities where required by law
If the business is ever sold or transferred, customer records may transfer with it. We would notify you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and some of our providers process data in the US and elsewhere. Where personal data of individuals in the EEA or UK is transferred outside those regions, our providers rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Order and license records: as long as your license is active, plus the period required for tax and accounting purposes (generally seven years).
- Support correspondence: typically up to three years, so we have context if you write again.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: per Squarespace's retention settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from emails
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
If you are in California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may also have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, but you may still exercise your other rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@fangtoothinstruments.com. We may need to verify your identity, usually by confirming the email address associated with your account or order. We respond within the time required by applicable law.
Note that deleting your account information may deactivate your product licenses.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, plus analytics cookies. Where required, we present a cookie banner allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Children
This site and our products are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers and limit access to customer data to what is necessary to run the business. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the business changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on this page.
