After your purchase, you'll get a confirmation email with a link to your Fangtooth Instruments customer account. Log in (or create an account) using the same email address you used at checkout.

Inside your account you'll find your Baikonur 4 plugin installer and sample installer for your platform — all in one place. Activation happens automatically through Moonbase, so there's no license key to enter. The confirmation email also walks you through these steps.

Your account securely stores your downloads and any future updates for Baikonur 4, so you can always re-download your purchase or grab the latest version. Order delivery is handled through our storefront partner, Moonbase, which is why the login may show that name.

1. Download the Baikonur 4 plugin installer and sample installer for your platform.
2. Run the plugin installer (.pkg on Mac, Setup.exe on Windows) to add the Baikonur 4 plugin to your system.
3. Run the sample installer (Samples.pkg on Mac, Samples Installer.exe on Windows).
4. Open the plugin in your DAW for the first time.
5. Click Install Samples and choose a folder where you'd like the samples stored.
6. Baikonur 4 will extract the samples to that location and load automatically.

You only need to do this once. After the first launch, the plugin remembers where your samples live.

Yes. Move the sample folder to its new location, then open Baikonur 4 and use the Locate Samples option to point the plugin at the new folder. The plugin will save the updated path.

No. Once the samples are extracted and the plugin loads correctly, the sample installer is no longer needed. You can re-download it anytime from your customer portal if you need to reinstall.

Baikonur 4 is available as:

• VST3 — Windows and macOS, including Ableton Live, Cubase, and most other DAWs
• AU (Audio Unit) — macOS only, for hosts like Logic Pro

Make sure your DAW is set to scan for the right format and is looking in the folder where Baikonur 4 was installed. If it doesn't appear after installing, trigger a fresh plugin rescan.

This is a known FL Studio behavior that affects many sample-based plugins, not just Baikonur 4. Two settings fix it:

1. Enable "Align tick lengths"

1. Go to Options → Audio Settings
2. Find the Align tick lengths option and turn it on

2. Enable "Use fixed size buffers"

1. Open Baikonur 4 in FL Studio
2. Click the wrench icon at the top of the plugin window
3. Go to the Troubleshooting tab
4. Turn on Use fixed size buffers

If you still hear glitches, try increasing your buffer length in Audio Settings — a larger buffer gives the plugin more time to process.

This almost always means the plugin can't find your sample folder. Open Baikonur 4, use the Locate Samples option, and point it at the folder where the samples were extracted. If you're not sure the extraction finished, re-download and re-run the sample installer from your customer portal, then click Install Samples in the plugin again.

• Make sure your DAW is scanning the folder where the plugin was installed.
• Trigger a fresh plugin rescan in your DAW's settings.
• Confirm your DAW is scanning for the right format — VST3 (Windows/Mac) or AU (Mac only).
• On Mac, make sure the plugin is allowed to run in your system security settings.

Increase your audio buffer size in your DAW's audio settings. A higher buffer reduces CPU strain at the cost of slightly more latency — a good trade-off when mixing or when you hear crackling. In FL Studio specifically, also confirm Align tick lengths is enabled (see the buzzing / distortion question above).
